Makayla Reese

Makayla Reese was born in Bristol, Rhode Island. She is a mixed media printmaker currently working on her Bachelor's degree in Printmaking at the Maine College of Art. Reese creates a range of work that is based anywhere between the topic of sweets to the conversation black racial issues. Both of these topics go back to her childhood and current life events. To her baking was the one thing that cleared her mind from the world around her. It’s also important to Reese that as a mixed woman she stands up and speaks upon the issues people of color have always been facing through her art.
